Welcome to the 2021-2022 Patriot school year! It is a true blessing to be a part of the Patriot family, and I am honored to work with each child, parent and amazing staff member.
This is my eighth year partnering with Fountain-Fort Carson School District 8 to continue academic excellence, citizenship, and leadership. My previous educational experience has been with Cheyenne Mountain School District 12. I have a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University and a Master in Leadership from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. Prior to my educational experience, I worked in the private sector as a corporate trainer/education consultant.
My husband and I have been married for twenty-six years and we are both originally from Texas. We love Texas A&M football (Whoop!). After we married, we moved to Phoenix, Arizona for eight years, followed by a move back to Texas. The last fifteen years have been spent in Colorado Springs, and my family truly loves the beauty this great state has to offer. We have three very amazing children: Cade (graduate from CU Boulder), Christian (senior at Colorado School of Mines, Army ROTC), and Chloe (sophomore at University of Arizona). As a family, we love to play tennis, run, hike, eat Bluebell ice cream, and have family movie nights.
Patriot Elementary is committed to excellence for each and every student and we strive to always do what is best for students. Our guiding principles command academic excellence, professional excellence, a commitment to an individual's social and emotional wellness, and a community partnership with all major stakeholders - parents and the Fort Carson community.
It is a true honor to be a part of this wonderful school community and I look forward to partnering with our Patriot families. If you ever need anything or have questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
Patriot Elementary Mission:
“For every student to become a lifelong learner and a confident, productive member of society by providing an engaging, safe, and supportive academic community.”
Welcome Back Patriot Elementary Families,
My name is Kathrin Polyefko and I am thrilled and honored to serve as one of the Assistant Principals of Patriot Elementary School again this year. This is my seventh year with Fountain/Fort Carson School District 8 at Patriot Elementary School and my second year as assistant principal. Prior to becoming an assistant principal, I was a classroom teacher for 10 years, an English Language Development (ELD) teacher, and Instructional Coach.
I am a German native and travel to visit family and friends often. I completed my undergraduate teaching degree at the Otto-Friedrich University in Bamberg, Germany. I also have a Master in Teaching Students of Other Languages (TESOL) from Grand Canyon University and a Master in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. There are many people in this world who never have the opportunity to pursue the career they love. I am not one of them. From the time I was a child to the day I left for college, I knew I wanted to become a teacher. I love what I do and I found that interacting with children and young adults gave me energy and inspiration.
When I am not at school, I love spending time at home with my husband and three children. This year, my son is a nineth grader, my oldest daughter is in 7th grade, and my youngest is in 4th grade right here at Patriot. That they keep me busy is an understatement. They all enjoy learning musical instruments and are active in various sports. When we are not watching the kids practice or compete, we love traveling and exploring the Colorado outdoors. My husband was stationed at Ft Carson many years ago and we have loved Colorado ever since.
At Patriot, we ensure that students feel safe and have a personal connection to their school. We have high expectations for learning and achievement supported through excellent instruction and learning opportunities. I look forward to working with the Patriot community to ensure students have a rich learning experience. Patriot is a great place for students, staff, parents, and community members. We welcome everyone to be involved in our school to help your student reach his or her maximum potential. Together we can take our school to the next level of excellence!
I look forward to experiencing this new adventure with our wonderful staff and community. Together.
Hello Patriot Families!
My name is Domenique Roush, and I am the Instructional Coach at Patriot Elementary School. This is my fifth year at Patriot, and I couldn’t be happier!
I’ve been in education for twelve years. I started teaching in a fourth-grade classroom, moved to the media, and am now the Instructional Coach. As a coach I partner with teachers with the goal of student success. I enjoy being a supporter for teachers and seeing them succeed, because when they succeed, the students succeed. It creates a joy and love for teaching and learning and I’m so happy to have the opportunity to participate in that sort of magic.
I am also here to support parents and families. I’m not personally experienced with military life, but I’m learning so much about it and have so much awe and respect for everyone in this community. The hard work, dedication, and strength military families have is really something special. Anything I can do to help or support you and your family, please let me know. I’d be honored to have the opportunity.
I’m excited to get to know everyone and start this new school year. Thank you for supporting our school, teachers, and students. It’s going to be a great year!
